TITLE: Payroll Assistant

LOCATION: Houston

POSITION REPORTS TO: Payroll Manager

SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 5:00 pm; some overtime required

WAGES: Hourly. Commensurate with experience

Sun Coast Resources, LLC  is seeking a meticulous and motivated Payroll Assistant to join our HR team. In this role, you will support our Payroll Manager in the administration of payroll process to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees.  This position is critical in maintaining payroll records, assisting with payroll inquiries, and providing backup support to the Payroll Manager as needed.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Payroll Manager in processing payroll on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Provide backup support to the Payroll Manager during absences or peak times, including overseeing payroll processes as needed
  • Ensure accurate entry of employee data, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including timesheets and pay summaries
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management, providing accurate information in a timely manner
  • Assist with the reconciliation of payroll discrepancies and errors, investigating and resolving issues as they arise
  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws
  • Make recommendations for process improvements and innovations to drive efficiencies. Process Manager Payroll Reports
  • Respond to a high volume of incoming calls efficiently and professionally, ensuring timely resolution
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the HR department
  • Monitor group email Inbox (Timeclock Group and Absences) providing accurate information in a timely manner
  • Maintains honest and ethical conduct, including the ethical handling of data

REQUIREMENTS

  • Two years of experience in payroll
  • Willingness to work in the office (live within 60 miles)
  • Must be able to interact with employees with professionalism, while being pleasant and helpful
  • Ability to provide immediate response to requests
  • Must be meticulous and have good judgment
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work overtime and/or occasional weekends as required
  • Must be able to work occasional weekends when requested by management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal guidance and direction
  • Ability to simultaneously work on multiple task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Discretion in handling confidential information to the highest degree

 

PREFERRED

  • Experience in ADP
