Building Maintenance Technician
JOB TITLE: Building Maintenance Technician
LOCATION: Houston, TX
POSITION REPORTS TO: Facility Maintenance Manager
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday. 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some overtime, weekends, and travel will be required.
COMPENSATION: Hourly. Commensurate with skills and past experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform a wide variety of general and semiskilled maintenance activities, e.g., carpentry, painting, electrical, sheetrock, and plumbing.
- Perform repairs to walls, floors, doors, and other interior structures
- Arrange furniture and equipment and provide adequate preparations for special events
- Clean buildings and grounds as needed to provide an effective working environment and prevent damage and/or limit liability exposure
- Respond to emergency situations during and after hours and resolve immediate safety concerns
- Transport a variety of tools, equipment and supplies and ensure the availability of materials required at job site
- Disassemble broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble equipment when repairs are complete
- Assemble and maintain physical structures, using hand or power tools
- Other tasks as assigned by manager
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be local (live within 60 miles)
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record (must be able to pass MVR)
- Must be able to travel out of town as necessary with overnight stay
- Experience using basic power tools effectively
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to lift 50-100 pounds
- Ability to bend, sit, squat, stand, crawl, walk, reach above shoulder, and work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, work at elevated heights, work in tight spaces.
- Be able to operation Forklift, Scissor lift, Man lift & Lull.
- Able to work independently

- Good customer service skills
- Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal with managers and other personnel
PREFERRED
- General facility maintenance experience preferred
